| 10 TIPS FOR GOOD WING CHUN CHI SAU | ||
| By Charles O'Neill | ||
|
Hey All, How many of you practice Chi Sau (Sticky Hands) and sometimes feel that you're not 'getting it' or not growing? I was going over some of my notes, and found a great list of 'Check Points' for when you do Wing Chun Chi Sau. Here are ten of them: 1) Roll (Lok Sau) only two or three times and then changes hands (using Heun Sau). 2) Remember to check distancing.
You Opponent/Partner should 3) Check hand positioning. Is Fook Sau, tan sau and bong sau effective or 'Just There'? Are you TOO heavy or Too Light? 4) Check Your Stance. Are you in Yee Gee Kim Yeung Ma? 5) Check Facing. Are you square
and centered to your partner? 6) Is your chin tucked? If
not, you will find that you may have 'bobble head'. 7) Are you ALWAYS in contact
with your partner? 8) Don't Forget to move. Don't
just stand still. Use footwork too. 9) DO you do any unnecessary
movements? Like Bobbing up and down, stop, go, shifting without reason? 10) Are your Elbows down? Hope the list helps. Until
next time.
